We used this in the lower level of a split level home. It got pretty damp at times and this worked very well. I think it's an excellent untit and would recommend it.

I purchased this dehumidifier over two months ago and it has not worked at all. Customer service has told me more than once that my replacement 'humidistat' would be delivered in two weeks. I am still waiting, it has been eight weeks.
My advice would be to do business with another company or find another product elsewhere.

We get a small to medium amount of water leakage in our basement after very heavy rains and we needed something to take up the slack the foundation was letting through. This worked perfectly. Also helps take that damp musty feel out (to the degree a basement can be rid of it.)

Only negative side is I wish the drip pan was 25-50% bigger. When its really wet down there and the dehumidifier is going non-stop we have to empty it every hour or so. On the other hand, the small size is convenient for storage and keeping it from obstructing things while in use. Soo pick your poison on that one.

Overall I'd say if you need an industrial type machince go get an industrial strength one, not this. This has been great for occasional, small to medium size puddles and drying out the air a little to make it more comfortable.

I purchased this dehumidifier less than three months ago and it will not turn off. I called customer service and left a message and I e-mailed them and got no response. Finally I checked their FAQ list and it indicates that I need a replacement "humidistat" which will take two months to arrive from China according to customer service. Take your business elsewhere.

Works GREAT!!! Pulls water out of the air like you wouldn't believe. I have a damp basement, and before I attached the drain hose, I had to empty the tank 3-4 times a day. Worth every penny.

I never had heard of the Windchaser brand but decided to take a chance on one of their dehumidifiers. The price was one of the best at the time. It works very well in our basement. We live in a high humidity area and have to empty the bucket once a day. The noise level is fairly quiet. I would recommend this unit to anyone.

I can't claim much previous experience with dehumidifiers, but this one did the job, and did it well. I used this thirsty beast to help suck up the excess water of a truly gross basement flood, and it made a big difference in the clean-up and with the general air quality. The set-up was simple, the 30-pint container was substantial, and there were no mechanical failures of any kind, in spite of the fact that I ran the dehumidifier pretty much non-stop.

Obviously, if you've suffered a huge amount of water damage, or you're living in the middle of a swamp or something, you'll want to think about a larger model, but I strongly recommend this brand.
