  • Inlet air accelerator initiates Vornado's vortex action surrounding you in comfort by circulating the air in the room
  • Deep pitch propeller takes a big bite of air
  • Innovative air guide improves propeller efficiency; variable speeds control for any circulation need
  • Whisper quiet operation
  • Removable airTensity grill focuses air into a tight beam, traveling up to 75 feet

  • Quiet, stylish, and built of durable plastic, this big device circulates air throughout the largest rooms at home or at the office. Use it alone or with an air conditioner to cool down in the summer and to circulate heat evenly throughout a room in winter. Its powerful 112-watt motor combines with a deep-pitch propeller and a cunning grill design to move air in a tight beam up to 75 feet. For moving air up or down a stairwell or circulating air from floor to ceiling, the head pivots from an angle slightly below horizontal to straight up. It has an infinitely variable speed control, from low through high. The circulator stands 16 inches high, has a 15-1/2-inch-diameter head, weighs 12 pounds, and carries a lifetime warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

I received this fan for Christmas, and I am extremely pleased. I needed a fan to cool my media room which is full of all sorts of high tech equipment, which in turn make the room a little toasty. I bought a few fans for this purpose, and each one I tried was too loud. The variable control on this fan lets me adjust the noise level and the air circulation amount to where I get just the right balance. Of course there is the buzz of the electric motor that is perceivable with this fan, but it still is better than any other fan I've tried to date. A pleasant bonus is that it isn't generating any electrical interference with my equipment in this room, which was a fear of mine. I would definitely recommend this fan.

I was at Costco shopping for a fan for our den. We have 11 foot ceilings and needed something to help keep it cooler. I live in Alabama and our AC bill in July and August is huge.

I noticed the Vornado (210 model) was $69.95 and picked it up on the recommendation of a Costco employee who was passing by.

The amount of air this product will move is outstanding! It creates a breeze in the entire room. Put it behind a chair and turn it on and you will never want to go without it.

Highly recommended and I am going to buy another for the kitchen.

I was shopping for a quietest fan and I found it. You will be amazed at the amount of air this Vornado moves for being whisper quiet.

I borrowed this fan from my roommate at school, and I have become addicted to it! It is running 24/7, and it really keeps my dorm room cool and comfortable. Also, it is nice that it has a knob instead of a switch to control the speed, because it allows for a larger range of settings. This fan is actually fairly quiet until you put it on the highest range of settings, and even then it is not that loud for the amazing amount of air that it moves. I must say that I am very impressed with this fan and would recommend it if you want to keep your room cool and comfortable all the time. Also, I am not a kid, I just didn't want to bother with registering for the site just to tell everyone what a great product this is!

I just got ahold of this fan today and I must say that I've never used a fan quite like this one. Once I turned it on I proceeded to turn it to its highest setting, and was a little surprised at how loud it was. The noise was justifiable however, as the huge torrent of air made me feel like this was some industrial strength fan. At low settings the noise is pretty whisper quiet, and it moves a lot of air even at that setting, which was pretty surprising.

The air circulation capabilities of this fan are amazing, I've never seen any fan capable of circulating air so well, and this vornado is in no way just a fan, it IS an air circulator. Even when on low, if you point the 750B at a wall, or at the ceiling, you can feel a constant but gentle breeze all around you without needing the vornado facing you at all. This gentle breeze is very pleasant, and definitely creates a more comfortable environment. Because of this, I think I may always have this vornado running, even in my air-conditioned house, just because the gentle breeze makes everything so much more comfortable. The only negative I've found with this fan is that when it came shipped, two of the clips that hold the grill onto the fan itself were broken off. It still stays on fine, but would fall off if I held it upside down. The price is no doubt expensive, but when you compare this vornado to other "ordinary" fans, it blows them all away.

I bought this item at a local warehouse club for a great price. I've been using it for just over a week and it is by far the most effective fan I've ever had. Right now, I also have a huge box fan and 3 regular ol' oscillating fans, and none of these moves air like the Vornado. We have a 50's house with no AC (save the rooms that have window units), and it gets nearly unbearable in the summer, especially upstairs. Last week, with a few days in the 90's, I used the Vornado in front of an open window to try and bring in the cooler night air. It circulated the air so well that I ended up sleeping under my down comforter. So I've got to give this fan 5 stars for helping me sleep sweat-free at night. No, it's not whisper quiet, but realistically, noise is inevitable from a motor that's moving a large volume of air efficiently. My box fan sounds like it's getting ready for lift-off on even the lowest setting, and it doesn't work half as well as my wonderful new Vornado. However if silence, rather than air circulation, is the priority, this is not the fan to consider.

My life long love affair with fans go way back. I suffered with insomnia in my teens and learnt I would sleep when a fan was blowing on me. I run a fan year round (thought I was the only one, but find there are others out there!). My sinuses do not close up, and the white noise makes me sleep so peaceful. However, I need a "softer" fan for my work area. One that give plenty of air current, but since I am writing with papers about me and books, I needed one that was not a hurricane. This one is a pleasing quiet fan, good are current, but can be near silent. In Summer it makes any room cooler, in winter makes the room warmer. I am very pleased with this fan and its excellent warranty.

If you are a teacher working in a classroom that is not airconditioned, I highly recommend the Vornado 750B air circulator. I've put it on top of a filing cabinet in one corner and faced it at the opposite (farthest) corner above the heads of my high school students. No arguments about who is getting the most benefit from the fan because we can all feel the air moving around the room. We use it all year round, not just when it's warm. Even at its highest setting you can still be heard in the back of the classroom. It's sturdy and easy to wipe clean of the everpresent chalk dust. I also have a 610 in my bedroom at home to lower the costs of air conditioning. I recommend Vornado to anyone I hear complaining about energy bills or the comfort level of their home or workplace. No one has been disappointed.

Today I received two Vornado 750B fans from Amazon, and today I returned those same fans to Amazon. The fans, euphemized "air-circulators" by Vornado, are neither whisper quiet nor moderate-conversational-volume quiet. I opened the box for the first fan, looked over the owner's manual, plugged it in, turned it on. At the lowest setting, my roommate and I could easily detect an audible metallic hum...this sounds somewhat like a refrigerator when the compressor kicks in. Not whisper quiet at all! Upon turning the dial to the highest setting, the volume is anything but quiet. It is LOUD (at least 70 decibels at 1 meter distance). I also own a Honeywell oscillating fan, and that fan was much quieter and cost only $15.00! Strangely, the Vornado fan seems to have no more air-pushing abilities than the cheaper Honeywell fan. Also, I noticed that the Vornado fan chassis, on a carpeted surface, was shaking ...possibly there is a flaw in its balance. After spending $80.00 per fan, I had expected superior build quality. I owned a similar Vornado fan (in the 1990's), and apparently they now use cheaper plastics, because the exterior seems to be of a thinner, more brittle construction. Note I said that I received two fans. Thinking that, perhaps, the first fan was defective, I opened the second box, followed the same procedure, and the results were the same. Not whisper quiet and also no more powerful than the cheaper Honeywell fan. WARRANTY ALERT: In the product literature, it states that if you have a warranty return, you must pay the shipping "from Vornado back to you", which they state is a mandatory $15.00. So you pay shipping both ways to Vornado, even if the product was defective! Incidentally, I think that their warranty policy USED to be that, if defective, they would pay the return shipping back to you. That was then...this is now. Check out the Vornado website for yourself...www.vornado.com At the time of this posting, there is no warranty information on the site! I had called Vornado before purchasing, and the woman who answered the phone told me that their warranty was a "limited lifetime" warranty, but the shipping back to the consumer is covered. This contradicts what it says in the enclosed product literature! Perhaps she said this just to allay my concerns in order to make a sale. The Vornado 750B is simply not worth the exorbitant cost. The fan is not detectibly more able to move air than a cheaper fan, nor is it quiet, nor is the construction of good quality, nor is the warranty at all in the customer's favor. I would suggest a Honeywell fan as an alternative (mine is a 16" oscillating 'stand fan'). Much cheaper, better built, quieter, just as powerful and the warranty is at least as good.

Surroundings:I don't have air conditioning in my basement apartment and the air gets extremely humid and hot throughout the summer, as the side of the building I'm in receives sun all day long. The bedroom is 12x15', and the living room is 24x16' and oddly shaped. Installing standard air conditioning isn't an option due to the construction of the building and window settings. I just bought one of the Vornado 750B fans for my bedroom, on the recommendation of a co-worker, and after just one week's use, immediately bought a second for the living room. Style:The styling of the fan is quite unobtrusive and modern, but this isn't a major point for me, due to the way it operates. You can place it out of sight and still get excellent performance by aiming it at an angle on a wall or the ceiling. Though this is the largest model Vornado makes, the head of the fan is only 15" large, which is a full 9" smaller in diameter than the nearly worthless box fan it was replacing. The serpentine metal base gives it a very stable feeling, as the Vornado's motor, the heaviest part, is directly in the center of gravity. There are 4 rubber O-rings packaged with it that slip on the steel base, so that if you're using it on a hard surface, it dampens any resonant vibration. I recommend using them in any case, as on a hard tile floor, the steel base did buzz a tiny little bit. With the O-rings applied, it was silent.Performance: This is where your money went when you spend a little extra for quality. The Vornado is *very* quiet on the lowest setting, and perhaps due to the pitch of the propeller or the formation of the air exiting the grill, much lower pitched in sound than your average box fan. To me, that makes the sound it produces much more acceptable. The motor is quite heavy, and a continuously variable speed control doesn't come cheap, but it's very much appreciated by this end user! These are minor points, though, as I was looking for something that would actually make a difference in the way I felt throughout the summer months. Following the instructions for winter use, I started by keeping the fan aimed toward the ceiling to lower the heated (normally wasted energy) air toward the ground. The Vornado makes extremely quick work of redistributing the air flow and mixing the air in a room even on the lowest setting. I was actually able to turn the thermostat down by about 5 degrees, from 72 to 67, and the room still felt just as comfortable. That alone will end up paying for this awesome fan in a year or so! However, I really wanted to see how it would work when summer hit, so I experimented by turning the heat up to 85 for a few hours until I was as uncomfortable as usual in July/August. Then, per the Vornado's instruction pamphlet, I aimed it at a wall about twenty feet away and set it on medium. It takes a few minutes to establish a pattern of flow in a room, so everytime you move the fan, you need to let things adjust for a minute or two to see if you've got an effective position. Let me tell you, I haven't found an ineffective one yet, just ones that were less powerful than others! In any case, what happens depends on the size of the room and the fan speed you set, of course, as well as where you aim it. If you set it a distance away, and aim it directly at you, it will cool you off extremely quickly, to the point where 85 degrees felt like about 70. If you aim it at a wall and let the airstream "splash" off and recirculate as the device was intended, the effect is more subtle and much more comfortable than a normal fan. Instead of a constant, droning, one-sided breeze, you get a chaotic mixture of tiny little currents that waft around you in unpredictable patterns. No matter where you move in the room, you're surrounded by these buffeting little breezes. It frees you from being stuck in one spot or moving the fan to wherever you want to go in order to be comfortable. It's really cool. I lit a stick of incense in the furthest location from the fan, and I could actually watch the smoke being pulled all over the place. If I'd have tried the same thing with a box fan blowing on high, it would have risen in a straight column from 10 feet out! The highest setting of the fan speed is as loud as any other fan, though low-pitched, and it will move so much air that I can't forsee ever needing to use it at that level. The medium setting was as much as it took for me to be quite comfortable in a large room at 85 degrees. So, having reset the heat to a level that won't kill my wallet, and keeping the fan on the lowest setting again, I couldn't be more happy with my purchase. Whether you can't afford or install A/C (or would like to make it more effective at a lower setting), or you have uneven heat distribution, the Vornado fan is *THE* solution. Yes, they're much more expensive than a regular fan, but they're 10-fold more effective than the biggest normal fan I've ever used, and the Vornado is warranteed for life. There's a reason you can't find these fans on E-Bay ... no one ever gets rid of them!

I wanted to comment on some of the reviews that mention that this fan is not "whisper quiet" as described by Vornado. The actual description states that the motor is whisper quiet and it is. The only "noise" from this unit is from the huge amount of air that is being pulled through it and "vortexed" across the room when set on the higher speeds. The motor itself makes virtually no noise as described and when set to lower speeds, this fan is very quiet. I'm sure you can tell by most of the reviews here that this fan is simnply the best you can buy for the price. I also have the smaller, compact version in my bedroom and it's been running strong a couple hours a day for over 8 years. If you've never had a Vornado fan before, try one and I promise you'll never go back to "flat blades" again.

I agree with what everyone else is saying... it's an expensive fan, but well worth it. I moved to Seattle where it is never too hot to need AC, but a fan was needed sometimes. I saw this in Costco and balked at the $70 price. However, the box did a great job of asking "are you sick of throwing away crappy fans every year". I thought about it and they were right. All the fans my family ever had were shoddy so I took a chance. Well, after moving the fan from living room and back to the bedroom each night, I went out and bought a second one. That was 5 years ago. I am now in NY and have one in the living room and one near my bed. They have performed flawlessly and I would buy another in a second.

Throughout the years, I've lived in various residences that haven't had any air conditioning at all, and Vornado air circulators, starting with the 280SS (I have three of them), provided much needed relief from the hot weather. They've proven to be durable, easy to clean products that last an very long time (The motor is permanently lubricated, so that's not a surprise.) They're also extremely powerful, able to put out a steady, power stream of air that retains it's shape up to 75 ft. away from itself, allowing constant circulation across an entire room. With this latest model, the 750B, it's only gotten better. I got it to replace a slow, inefficient 3-speed fan in my kitchen that stopped working one morning, and I've been amazed at the difference it's made in there. It's gone from feeling like a sauna to a place that it a hell of a lot cooler than it used to be. I can actually feel a noticeable temperature difference. It's amazing how a product that's relatively small can be SO powerful!! If you're looking for a reliable air circulator that will get the job done, is easy to use, clean, and will last a long time, then you should get this product. It will NOT disappoint at all!! It's well worth every penny you spend on it.

After going through many cheapo floor fans (30 dollars an under) I finally bit the bullet and spend the moola for this little toy. I bought it primarily for the reviews of its longevity because all my previous fans seem to start making strange noises after a month or two of continous nightly use. As to the durability of the Voranado, I've only had it for 2 weeks so I cant let you know yet if this thing will outlive my cheapo fans or not. I can tell you it does provide a very nice breeze on many different settings but honestly after placing it next to my latest 25 dollar floor fan, and feeling the breeze from both, I cant say there's much of a difference. Again I bought this not because it claims to circulate air better which I tend to believe is just marketing hype but because I hope its a little bit more well made and will last me a few years rather than months. I can tell you that it aint as "whisper-quiet" as it claims to be. Trust me, when this thing is on in a quiet room (ie: when your sleeping) it makes itself heard. Personally I find that as long as the fan makes a consistent even purr than I can fall asleep to it just fine but if your buying this for its whisper quietness, don't.

I just bought this fan and I think it is great, I use it with another fan as I live in a basement and there's no way I can put an ac, so I had to get a fan in the middle of this hot weather. It's not noisy, and the way it circulates the air makes it feel like a breeze, it's not heavy so I can move it all over kitchen, bedroom, living room.I recommend this item to anyone who can afford it, it's worth it.

Yes, it is a bit pricey, but you will not be sorry for spending the extra money on this baby. What a little powerhouse! Quiet as can be, but more than effective at circulating the 'dead' air in your house into a refreshing breeze. Placed in front of the A/C, it cools down my whole apartment even in the hottest of weather. In fact, I don't even use the A/C as much as I used to. My Vornado keeps the cool air moving around well after I have turned the A/C off.Once you try a Vornado, you will wonder how you lived without one all of these years. Yes, it's that good!

After much hesitation I finally bought a refurbished model for under $50 and it looks and works like new. I already consider it one of the best buys I have ever made, and it looks built to last. The beauty of this solidly made fan is that is quiet yet very powerful. I point it at an angle to the ceiling or a wall and it creates a very effective quiet turbulence in the room that really does keep you comfortably cool. I also have to agree with another reviewer who wrote that the quiet whir seems to help him focus and concentrate when working. It seems to have the same effect on me. Perhaps it just that I feel more comfortable, or pehaps the very steady whir sooths by canceling out other distracting noises.

I know you're thinking that's a ridiculous amount of money to pay for 1 little fan (my husband thought the same), but trust me, it's worth every red cent & more. I have this fan in my living room (that has very poor air circulation) & you can feel it moving the air all through out that room plus the adjoining kitchen! I even use it in the winter time. It sits low to the ground so it's not in anyone's way & it's not at all unattractive.Plus with the pivoting head, you can change the flow of air in almost any direction. I would say the only down side to this fan is that only the face of it comes off which makes cleaning it a bit of a pain. You definitely need a can of compressed air to clean out the motor. All in all I would highly recommend this fan to anyone who is looking for a lot of power in a little fan. The hubby's is even pleased with it!

This is a quality product (and you pay for it) that works really well. I bought one for myself a few years ago, and I use it in my home office while on concalls. The variable control is much better than pre-sets installed on other fans. It's quiet and efficient. Plus, if you set the fan across the room, you can tune the air currents to your liking. The fan does not vibrate at all, and it does not seem to run hot. I bought one as a gift last XMAS for someone who hates air conditioning. I was worried if she let a fan run all day and night it might set a fire. The fan runs quiet and cool. I felt so confident, that I bought the smaller version for the top of my toddler's dresser to help mix the air a bit.The peace of mind is worth the price.

I needed an air circulator that was quite and efficient. I had no preconceived idea of which brand or what model. Based on some feedback, I bought the Vorando air circulator. I proved to be an excellent purchase. It is very quite, I am able to keep the setting low, and it still provides a comfortable breeze that circulates the air in a 20x20 room without blowing everything around. I confidentially recommend this unit. You will not be disappointed. As for the price, I had spent more in the past with less quality and performance.

i bought this for a dedicated audio listening room on the advice that it was whisper quiet (most important) and could cool the room (2ndary). its absolutely true on the 2nd point, but the thing is not whisper quiet. in fact i moved it to my bedroom and found it noisy enough to disturb my sleep...although it does move a lot of air.a reserved recommendation for this product

I don't know why other manufacturers just don't give up producing fans now that this extraordinary model is available. Like another reviewer, I've owned one for many years; actually, I'm on my second one. The first Vornado ran for several hours every day (no exaggeration) and gave no trouble for over 7 years. I've relegated that one to an area that doesn't need so much circulation and have purchased a new one for the heavy duty jobs. It's efficient and guiet and puts out a very focused and intense stream of air. The variable speed control is one of the best features about this wonderful product. They styling is unlike anything out there and takes up very little storage space. If you need a fan, you'd be crazy not to buy this one!

I have owned this fan for 7 years and know that I have moved to Australia I can appreciate its ability even further. Australia has dramatic weather and this fan allowes us to live comfertably in any season. This fan circulates the heating in the winter and the air conditioning in the summer. When you are dealing with 110+ days and 100+ nights it truly is a life saver.

I live in a 40 year old 800-odd sq. ft. top floor apartment with 40 year old sliding glass doors, caulking, etc. Needless to say, the A/C can't handle it all when there is a 100+ degree heat index. Having this fan has reduced my electric bill--it even cools my bedroom enough so I can sleep at night. Don't be scared by its price, because it is worth every penny. I HIGHLY recommend it.

This fan is quiet and powerful. Usually I have it blow 20 feet to where I'm sitting. That's not a challenge for this strong fan. When it's on, I'm comfortable with the air conditioning set on a high temperature. The fan is also good at drying wet floors, and at evacuating cooking smoke. Having it blow just a couple of hours in a car with wet carpets dried them a lot. I also like the fan's elegant styling.
