The low setting for these fans is disturbingly loud, and not all that low. I had hoped for a fan that I could leave running while I slept, but one would have to be very tired indeed to sleep through this noise.

I own a house which will be 200 years old in 8 years. I need window fans for the upstairs, which gets extremely hot and stuffy. Due to the age of my house, the windows are quite narrow (22 1/2 inches wide). Nowhere in any of the reviews, nor in the product description, is the MINIMUM width of this fan displayed. The maximum width is mentioned, but not the minimum. Shouldn't it be?? If the minimum width of the fan is too wide for my (or anyone else's) windows, then I can't use it!

Most other reviews I read before buying mine were positive, but a couple said they were a little louder than they would like. I mentioned I bought two because both circulate air like little champions and do it without making a lot of noise, even at higher speeds. If I needed to purchace additional fans for other rooms, I would get more of the same. Very satisfied.

Fans make a big difference in our second floor bedrooms. My wife and I had one and we decided to get one for each of our kids for their rooms. They love them and are able to easily put them in and out of their windows.

Compared to the other more "expensive" & "digitaly controled" fans I bought before, this one looks bland. But don't be fooled by the looks. Its excellant value for money. Individual controls for each fan. Good build quality. Fairly quiet fan motors. Keeps my cooling bill low.

There is some fan noise, but it isn't bad. The controls are simple to use and control each fan separately. Blows decent amount of air.

We have a Panasonic thin format fan and it's perfect except for it's shape; we try to wedge it into the window to make it work as a window fan. Here, the Honeywell is much better for that application; twin fans can be independently operated and the size fits most up-and-down opening windows. So think: if you have those side-to-side opening windows, this may not be for you. Or if you have casement windows. However, if you have traditional sash windows and want to save energy, consider this fan.

I'd rate the noise output as medium loud, the air moving ability as average to good. We find this brand acceptable compared to Holmes, which are found all over but as fans, are rather feeble.

Fans can reduce your energy bill if nights are cool or days are cool enough that moving air suits the temperature (70's to low 80's, say.) Also, if nights are cool, your AC may not go on if you have it set to a reasonable temperature, and your bedroom can become stuffy. This is an inexpensive way to cool a room and save on air conditioning costs.

This fly blender has a compact plastic two tow electric fan made of cemented ream beacons which divide one part from the next. Intended to be used in homes or cramped zoo cages, placed ideally near a fishing aquarium, it blends up roving insects that happen to fly in the "zone". In 2 years you empty the bag and feed it to the birds or fish, add some salt and then replace the bag. Has enough energy to dry a car battery dead in one month and enough dead fly capacity rarely seen in third world droughts.

My room gets really hot in the evenings and my mom found this fan at CVS on sale and it works great! It is very quiet and took me less than 5 minuets to get it in my window. I just slipped it right in! This fan made my room cooler within minuets! I really recommend this product!

Great little fan. I like the ability to blow air in via one fan and out with the other. After five weeks one of the fans died. After shipping it'll cost half of what I already paid for the fan using the 5 year warrenty.
PS I've been on the phone for 30min while I write this trying to get a return authorization. Now they tell me that the office is closed? Boooo!

I ordered this unit to replace an older Honeywell window fan that I now have running in my attic. On this new unit, I especially like being able to independently control the fans. Thus I can run either one or two fans, and I can have them both running the same direction or have them running in opposite directions. I also like the louvres that allow some degree of directionality with the air.

The first unit I received had an annoying rattle in one of the fans. I immediately RMA'd it for another unit (kudos to Amazon for a quick turnaround on the return/replacement). The replacement unit also seemed to have the rattle, but after it runs for a few minutes, the rattle goes away.

The plastic used for the casing seems a bit thin and makes it look cheap. Fortunately, it doesn't have any bearing on how the fan functions.

The noise level isn't much different than my old fan with both blades running, but the ability to turn off one blade makes it much more usable at night.

Overall I'm satisfied with it. I'd say the construction could be improved upon, but the functionality it offers makes it much nicer than a more "basic" window fan unit.

I purchased this fan and really like the overall design. I like that you can remove the grills for cleaning and it is pretty compact. But one fan is "quiet" and the other has an extreme rattle. Unfortunately, I already threw out the box, so I can't return it. I have to replace this item and will be hesitant to buy another product from this manufacturer.

A window fan is a good way to circulate air and help keep the room cool at a low cost. Although this unit does work and is well built for the cost, by no means can this unit be called quiet.

At the lowest setting, it has a very audible whine which is high pitched enough to prevent me from sleeping or watching TV at night. The speed settings are all far too high.

It is powerful and gets the job done, but for me, it's worthless.

The unit is 12.5" high and 24" wide, so your window must be at LEAST that big to fit this in.

I couldn't find this information anywhere, so I called Uncle Joe's, who pointed me at Honeywell, 800 382 6693, and they answered my questions.

I don't have the product yet but I ordered one based on people's positive comments.
