  • Draws in cool air, exhausts hot air, or exchanges air with outside
  • One-touch electronic control: two speeds and temperature selection
  • Thermostat turns fan off/on to maintain selected comfort level
  • Fits double-hung, vertical slider, and casement windows 24 to 37 inches wide
  • Extenders permit custom fit; 12-1/4 inches high overall, with 8-1/2-inch fans

  • This double window fan draws in fresh, cool air from the outside or exhausts stale, hot air from inside. It can also do both simultaneously, because each of the two fans can be set independently to draw in or exhaust out, allowing the unit to exchange inside and outside air. Operable either manually or automatically--with its thermostat turning the fans off and on to maintain a selected temperature--the unit has a one-touch electronic control and two speeds so it can be adjusted to conditions. It's designed to fit double-hung, vertical-slider, and casement windows. A built-in 7-inch extender and two 3-inch extenders permit custom fitting for windows from 24 to 37 inches wide. Because the unit is lightweight plastic it can be moved easily from room to room. The fans have six blades and measure 8-1/2 inches in diameter. Overall, the unit is 12-1/4 inches high, arrives fully assembled, and carries a three-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

This window fan is attractive, and it works really well to bring cool air into a room. But the exhaust does not work at all really, its power is only a fraction of the actual fan. Both modes are not equal in power. If you need a powerful exhaust device this would not be a good choice. Ive also had the unit turn off oddly for no reason, which has been frustrating.

I bought this fan on the recommendation of a friend.
At the end of a hot day, the temperature inside of my apartment is higher than outside.; this fan takes care of removing the hot air and bringing in cool air from the outside.
It barely fit the width of my window, but extender can be purchase afterwards if that`s a problem. Very easy to install and operate, there is a thermostat so the fan turns on when the temperature gets too high.
    Perfect for smaller rooms.
Also the price is definitely right.

Fan is very quiet. It does cool the room when on intake. But I bought this fan to blow the cooking smoke outside. There is no exhausts provided above the coking stove in my apartment, so all the smoke gets filled in. The fan doesn't do a very good job in blowing it out and keeping it away from my bedroom. The fans are not that powerful. May be it will work well in smaller room.

These are the best window fans short of an air conditioner. They come on when the weather is hot and shut off when the weather cools down. What a graet idea and they are quite as a mouse.

This fan is great. It's quiet (even at high speed). It does a good job for a large room (12x14, 8' ceiling). I wish there was a separate button to turn it off/on. You have to scan through speed/temp settings to turn off.

Would have given it 5 stars, but I haven't had it long enough and the control settings thing.

I was so excited just reading the reviews. They were all positive except for the noise. Well that noise part cannot be an clearer. This thing is LOUD, even at lowest speed it sounds like turning on your ventilation in the bathroom. As far as performance, it some what cools the room. This fan is meant more as an air exchange device, removing odor and pulling in fresh air outside. I wouldnt buy it again though. I rather save up for an air conditioner.

THE PEOPLE NEXT DOOR AND ABOVE ME IN MY APARTMENT BUILDING SMOKE. I TRIED EVERYTHING FROM LIGHTING INSCENCE, BUYING 2 FILTER PRODUCTS. THEY WORKED A LITTLE WHILE, BUT I HAD TO KEEP CHANGING THE FILTERS. EXPENSIVE? I DECIDED TO BUY SOMETHING TO BLOW THE SMOKE OUTDOORS. I WAS READY TO MOVE. THANK GOD FOR THIS FAN. IT BLOWS SMOKE AND ALL OTHER ODERS OUTSIDE. THE MINUTE I TURN IT OFF THE SMOKE INSTANTLY RETURNS. THIS IS A GREAT PRODUCT.

works very well both the exhaust and intake functions. Speed is good and works well for a small kitchen.

The fan was mailed promptly and arrived quickly to my home. It has been great these last couple hot and humid weeks. I especially like the fact that: 1. it is quiet and 2. you can set it in such a way that causes the fan to turn on when it is say, 75 degrees F and off when it hits 70 degrees F. Therefore, I never get too cold and have to manually shut it off during the night. It's a great fan at a very reasonable price and if the whether wasn't cooling down, I'd probably be buying another one for the guest room.

I really like the fan. It cools down my bedroom quite nice. It is quite loud though, but if that doesn't bother you, this window fan is just right.

THIS IS A VERY QUIET FAN WITH NICE OPTIONS FOR TWO SPEEDS AND TEMPERATURE CONTROL. I WOULD PREFER IT TO HAVE MORE DIRECT CONTROL OF THE SETTINGS, BUT THIS IS NOT A BIG ISSUE. I AM HAPPY WITH THE WINDOW FAN. THE COMPANY OFFERS ADAPTERS FOR FITTING WIDER WINDOWS.

This is probably my best buy this summer! It not only brings down the temps in my room, but best of all, it freshens the air! I set one fan to exhaust and the other to intake. I leave it on at the lowest setting for a day or two. Now, when I come home from work, my room smell so fresh, dry and clean! Repeat when necessary :)

This fan is one of the most efficient fans, I've used. Being able to set it for different temperatures, plus using it as an exhaust fan, takes the hassle out of having to get up at night to adjust it. It is also light weight and easy to install in a window, and take out during a storm. Storage during the winter is easy because of the small size. I think they are just as efficient as an air conditioning unit when used for pulling cool air in at night. I intend on buying one more for the guest room, then my cooling system will be complete.

It's a good product, it does take out the heat from my apt. It helps my a/c works in my whole apt.

I recently bought two of these for my apartment. I lack air conditioning and don't really have the money for a decent window air conditioner, but I won't really need it now that I have a couple of these. I put one at one end of the apartment set to "intake" and one at the other set to "exhaust" and now there is a nice little breeze (not strong, but perceptible) through the whole apartment, keeping the air from getting stagnant and oppressively hot. I wouldn't recommend these as a replacement for air conditioning for larger apartments or houses, or for people who really can't stand heat and humidity at all (I grew up in the deep south and don't mind humidity), but if you're looking for something to keep the air in your home breezy and fresh, this will get the job done. The controls are easy to use and the set up is self explanatory and takes only a minute. They're also pretty lightweight and durable, which is a plus for me since I move fairly frequently. And at $30/each, they're a lot of bang for your buck. I am very pleased with my purchase.

I live in Southern California, in a Two Story home, where temperatures can reach upwards to 85 degrees inside. When the sun goes down, temperatures can be as low as 55 degrees, but without a breeze, you can't get that breeze in your home. With this fan, I can now bring in that cold air, and cool down my second floor in no time. I bought three, to use in all my rooms, to cool the whole floor, and now can limit the use of my air conditioner and lower those high electric bills. As for the comments about noise being a problem, I don't hear it. If anything, it is a constant frequency which will drown out other unwanted noises, like that of white noise from a water fountain.

My central A.C. is broken and now I rely an a lot of fans-I am in the Tampa Bay area of Florida with an average heat index of 110! This is a great fan. looked at it at K-mart for $40.00. I have purchased just one but plan to buy at least 5 more. I read previous reviews about this fan being noisy-I dissaggree, I have fans that sound like jet engines, this one is NICE!

I am a big fan of this one. (yuck, yuck) Actually, the fan works very well. It's speeds are noticably different depending on your need and the thermostat settings really work. I bought one for a room where and AC was not practical and it worked like a charm. I now have three of them and even in the largest room, it does a great job. Not silent, but not distracting. A great buy - especially with the three-year warantee.

This is a good dual fan, but it's loud, even on low. I do not recommend it for a bedroom window -- you won't get to sleep. But for other rooms where a certain level of quiet isn't necessary, it's worth it.

I have another Holmes twin window fan. Amazon.com only offers HAWF2043 model. So I bought one. It is not bad. But, 1) when you turn the fan on, both fans have to be turned on. There is no choice of only one fan being turned on. 2) When you turn it on, it has some machine noise beside the fan noise. 3) Cannot really tell the difference on low/high or between fan speed. If you have to buy it, buy HAWF2041 model. Same price, better function. It covers all 3 points mentioned above.

This is a very good fan, simple to use and it fits into our window perfectly. I like the temperature control, especially for SF weather. It is NOT an air conditioner, but for moderate temperature control, the fan is very nice.

I bought this very fan and it works great. I put it in my window and its like having a Air conditioner in my room. You should really considor buying this

Nice lightweight fan, with easy-to-understand controls and instructions. Fairly quiet operation. Small quibble: unlike other dual fans I've had, you can't turn each side off individually (altho you can operate one side as a fan while the other side exhausts) Bonus: you can disassemble this fan for cleaning. Good value for the price.

Great Fan. Being a doofus, I bought it for a big window near a fire escape, later realizing I would have to go through the hassle of taking it out of the window to lock up before I went to work every day. So I now hang this incredibly lightweight fan in FRONT of the window, and put it away in 30 seconds before leaving the house. With all the features, I can't believe I only paid thirty bucks for this. It could be a little more powerful, but Jesus, $30!

Nice fan. Oops, it pays to read the directions! Wouldn't think I would have to with something so simple as a fan, but looks like I should have. Upon reading the 2 page instructions I learned that the fan can be CUT OFF without having to cycle through all the options by pressing and holding the MODE button for 2 seconds. Then when you cut the fan back on again it will resume the setting you last left it in. Very nice and necessary touch! I feel, however, that there should be some type of wording on the fan itself like 'Press and Hold for OFF' so people would not have to resort to the instruction pamphlet. I had almost thrown away the box along with the little pamphlet...glad I hadn't.

This fan would be decent except for one thing: the pathetic control system. Aside from the intake/exhaust switches, there is only one button on the fan. Not a switch, a dial, or anything else but a lone button. One button to cycle through high/low, on/off, and the various temperature settings. Airflow is adequate and it is not terribly loud. Basically, this is a decent fan, but you can get a better one for less.

I was actually impressed with the power. For an inexpensive fan, it does a good job. It's not exactly "whisper" quiet, but it sounds like it should - like a fan. Don't expect perfect silence. Very easy to set up and the one-touch temperature controls are very cool, although mine is always set on high since I'm really, really fat and I sweat all the time. OK, I'm really not fat, just sweaty. Anyway, in my opinion, this a good deal and I would recommend buying it. Gotta love Amazon.com.

Worst fan! I live in Boston, and the summer gets really hot. I cannot buy a AC so I decided to test this out. It came to my home without instructions or any manuals (though, they are not really necessary). Is think someone had returned this product.

this fan is just so wonderful, it cools/exhausts my bedroom so quietly and efficiently. It's one more thing that I don't have to worry about. I love the thermostate setting feature, when i leave for work in the morning my room is usually cool enough so that the fan shuts off and will re-start automatically to exhaust the hot air from the room at noontime. If the room becomes too cool at night, the fan will shut itself off! It is so quiet and really gives a good breeze! I bought 2 and my son loves his too!
