The Black & Decker Ceramic Heater is the safest ceramic heater in the industry and one of the most economic ways to heat a small area. Safety features include "Fireshield" and an ALCI plug, motion off detection, a tip over switch, thermal fuse protection, a cool touch housing, and overheat warning light. The included comfort features are a frost watch thermostat, soft touch handle, a dust filter, two heat settings and a fan only setting.Compact yet powerful at 1500 watts, the Chill Buster quickly warms up rooms that are small- to medium-sized, or tempers them with just the fan setting. A good unit to have around pets or children, the heater comes with a number of built-in safety features. Two devices, a motion-detector and a tip-over switch, automatically shut the heater off if the unit is picked up, moved sideways, or knocked over. When set upright again, the unit automatically turns back on. The unit also shuts off automatically if the cord is damaged or if overheating occurs.
Oval-shaped with a stylish tilt, the Chill Buster features two stable feet, a cool-touch body, and soft-touch handle (that is free of natural rubber and latex, for those with allergies), which makes the unit easily carried and set in place on a table, shelf, desk, or floor. One particularly handy feature is the frost watch thermostat that turns the heater on when the ambient room temperature falls below 40 degrees F, thus preventing pipes from freezing. Two output settings, low and high, along with variable heat settings keep a room just right. This particular model does not show actual room temperature.
