After reading the reviews on this product I decided I would give it a try. I'm very pleased with my new Bionaire Tower Fan. The remote is a wonderful feature. Not sure why others are hearing noises, but I have not heard a thing. Mine is very quiet and blows very cool air. Like others have said before the breeze feature is a bit different. I mainly use the rotation feature which seems to circulate the air throughout the room very nicely. Oh another thing, I have a 3yr old boy and he has banged and knocked around on the fan. So that shows it can hold up to a toddlers beating. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

i purchased this fan about six weeks ago. it cools nicely, and i like the timer setting. the breeze feature, is a another matter. i do not like it too much, and now, when i have used the breeze, it makes another type of noise that is annoying; so i do not use the breeze setting. it was not hard to put together, was done in 10 minutes. nice to have the remote, it would be nice if it had a glow in dark feature, because if you want to change the setting, you need to turn on a light. also, it is not really too quiet. there have been a couple of times i got up in the middle of the night, and turned it off. it is an ok product, but it it defently priced a little high..

I have had this fan 14 months and it just stopped working. No rhyme or reason, one day it just stopped. We opened it to see if there was any noticeable reason but all wires seemed fine. Up until then it worked great - quiet and circulated air well. I deliberately bought this model because it was more expensive and i wouldnt have to replace it all the time...oh well

I'm very happy with the product. I had a Lasko Control Tower Fan and in was noisey and would make screetching sounds now and then. It died after a few years. This one is great - however they sent the wrong size screws to mount the base. They were too short, so crazy glue came to the rescue!

I paid $60 for this fan and it gives the same amount of air that I get from a fan that I paid $9.99 for. It is definitely quiet and the remote control is very handy but it does not give enough air. 5ft away from the fan, I don't even feel the air. This is the reason I am returning it.

On top of it, amazon took 15 days to ship it with free shipping but If I had paid for shipping then they would have shipped it in one day. This is not the reason I am returning it, I am just annoyed.

The reviews on this fan were mixed. But I took a chance on buying one because of it's features, a 5 year warranty and it's seeming better quality. I should have listened and taken to heart what other reviewers said. One of the selling features of this fan was that it was supposed to be really quiet. It wasn't. Several other buyers complained that it made a chipping noise. Mine did on high from the moment I plugged it in. My biggest mistake was choosing a tower fan. Because of where I wanted to use it, a tower fan would work best. I should have gone to a local store that sold tower fans and tried one out. I would have immediately discovered that it didn't move much air. I was used to box and stand fans that had real power. Even this high priced tower fan did not. It was a joke. I found a great stand fan with a remote that is super quiet with great power for $10 less. If you want a fan that really cools, keep looking. Unhappy in LA.

After working in a beautiful but musty old building for years, our office manager bought four of these fans plus a Bionaire air cleaner (reviewed separately). We used to have two big old fans, that blew everything everywhere, and drowned out entire conversations. These new fans are incredibly quiet, and move the air enough to create a much fresher working environment. What a big improvement!

I notice that several reviews here mention loud squeaking after several months of operation. If that occurs, I'll adjust this review.

This fan is great. It runs quiet, takes up no space at all and circulates air so well.

Having a remote control and a timer for a fan are the two features that qualify this as a 'new class' of product for me. Having the timer shut the fan is very nice. Wish it would remember the previous timer setting and automatically shutoff. You have to set the timer each time you turn it on.

Quiet - but... makes crickety noise in oscillate + wind mode. I bought two units and both behaved the same - so it is a design thing.

Overall - reasonable value. I'm happy I got two.

This fan does what I expected. Tower design accommodates moving the fan to tight places. Oscillating action is a full 90 degrees which covers a good sized area. Remote control is very convenient, especially since you can remotely direct the air flow where you want it. I can do without the breeze function though. One star is removed because after about a month of use, I now occasionally notice some brown oil-like drippings on the foot stand and it appears to come from the bottom of the fan assembly. Not enough to notice but enough to be concerned about down the road.

With a timer and breeze function, this is the perfect upright fan at a competitive price.

I have never wrote a review, but was compelled to do so because of people thinking that the negative reviews were lies. I think one of the causes of the squeaking and fan refusing to twirl is if the slightest bit of dust accumilates on the blades, it creates an imbalance and squeaking and stops the fan from being able to twirl. I took the fan apart and cleaned all the blades and the problems stopped for about 6 months and I never open my windows so there isn't that much dust in my house. Now it has started again and I only use it at night and during the summer months. Most people would not take the fan apart. It is very tedious and time consuming! It's obvious there is a engineering flaw of some kind, all the complaints are exactly the same.

The problem is I haven't found a fan that is as quiet as this one and doesn't take up much room. So I do plan on getting another one save the reciepts and if the problem starts again keep returning it.

I bought two of these fans (but from QVC #V20623) and they are great! They are the exact same model (BT45RC/RI) but have the ionizer in them which freshens the air (same price including shipping). I got these to replace the regular stand type oscillating fan, which were definitely more noisy than the Bionaire. We live in So. Calif. where it gets quite hot in the summer. Using these fans greatly reduces our air conditioning usage. These fans also have a much nicer flow of air that you can feel whether sitting in a chair or lying on the floor watching TV, even at the lowest setting.

The fans are not cheaply made in my opinion. They seem quite sturdy and well made. They are a cinch to put together upon arrival, taking only 10 minutes from start to finish.

I definitely give a "thumbs up" to the Bionaire BT45RC/RI.

I too suspect a serious hatchet job with ulterior motives from these other reviewers. I have 2 of these, almost 2 years now. I like them very much. They oscillate smoothly and its the only fan I can have near a TV that wont ruin the show with it's incessant cranking noise like a standard fan. I am ordering another one today on the Friday sale. I can't speak for other people but I'm sold. One other note. You can find tower fans from Bionaire in the discount stores but they are the cheapie model, this one is the higher quality one. Maybe the ones these other people are complaining about are the more squarish versions from BJs and Sams and the like.

Was given fan for my new office. Had it running off and on for 2 days and doesnt work !!!! Looks great, 2 days worth and nothing !! Dont buy this piece of junk.....There wasn't any "0" stars or I would have rated it just that.. I dont have the packing slip since it was a gift. So I guess I have to toss it in the garbage... I will NEVER buy a Bionaire product ever !!!

A nice fan which is almost soundless when you first get it. I loved how I could leave it on at night in the bedroom and sleep without all that fan noise. However, after a few months, this fan develops a loud squeak which just won't go away. It's warranteed for years and Bionnaire is happy to replace the fan provided you have the ORIGINAL PACKING SLIP. It doesn't matter if you have a receipt from Amazon or can provide documentation from the credit card company. Without the packing slip you're out of luck. I'm going to give this product one more try because of it's initial quietness.

The only reason why I like this fan is because it is attractive, and it makes a good conversation piece in the living room or office, but its performance is the worse. After a month, my fan began to make the most god-awful squeaking noise. After pulling it out for this upcoming summer, it has a slow start. I find this to be a darn shame for a fan that is between the price range of $30-$80. I went to an hardware store not long ago and saw that another company has come out with a high velocity model of this fan. I was very impressed by that new and improved version and intend on replacing my current tower fan with it.

This fan has far exceeded my expectations-it's super-quiet, easy to move around, and has numerous handy features. I've had it about a year-no problems. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a fan that works well.

I've had mine for plenty long and works just fine. Remote is a nice touch.Someone commented buying 4 of them and all went bad. The odds on that seem to be a little out there and wonder if this person really works for a Bionaire competitor.

Bionaire produces this fan for many private labels. I have 4 of these fans, Three Bionaire and one Private Label. After 6 mos, three of the fans started to make a high pitch squeel. then the blades slowed down (barely moved)and finaly the fans stoped working. I threw two of the fans out. On the third I sprayed some lubricant where the blade connects to the base and motor. It started to work. But after another 3 mos, I had to do it again. I have had issues with all 4 fans.
