Allergies are an unpleasant fact of life for many today. The symtoms are all too common including, sneezing, coughing, runny nose, breathing difficulties, skin inflammations, and more. A true allergy sufferer knows how difficult it is to deal with these symptoms on a daily basis.

If your allergy is to airborne elements, you are really at the mercy of changing winds, weather, and seasons too when you are outdoors. There isn't much that can be done to control the outside environment, but there is plenty that you can do to try to control the allergens in the air when you are indoors.

There are several tools at the allergy sufferer's disposal to help, but some of the most effective are air purifiers that can help scrub the air of allergic compounds and remove the allergy causing contaminants.

How A Filterless Air Purifier Works

Submitted by coordinator on Sun, 2006-01-08 20:22.

If you watch television late at night, you are probably familiar with a filterless air purifier called the Ionic Breeze. These systems have benefits and drawbacks. Lately, there has been some controversy over their safety. Some consider them to be unsafe, while others swear by the results.

How a Filterless Air Purifiers Work

A filterless purifier works by giving the incoming air an electrostatic charge. This charge also charges particles in the air. The air is then moved past an oppositely charged collection grid. The impurities in the air are attracted to the grid, like a magnet. The grid must be removed periodically and cleaned of the impurities. This is easily done with a damp cloth. Once the grid is completely dry, replace it and turn the machine back on. These systems can be installed on a forced air heating system to treat the whole house, or can be purchased in portable units.

One of the main causes of sinus infection is cause and triggered by a polluted air that we breathe. Almost every corner of the space we move in is affected and was contaminated by air pollutants that in serious cases can contain harsh elements that can give a greater possibility of causing sinus infection. Even offices, motels, restaurants and shops including apartments, warehouses, laboratories, dark rooms and production areas is not anymore a pollutant free. But now devices are invented to help you control some of those elements that pollute the air. Especially made to prevent sinus infection problems, the following are beneficial devices.

Air Purifiers: An Investigation of the Types and Their Benefits

Submitted by coordinator on Wed, 2005-12-07 15:21.

Considering the amount of irritants that are present in the air today, those who suffer from allergies and other breathing disorders are challenged to find effective ways to clean the air that they breathe within their home environment.

Not so many years ago, this simply meant making sure that the house was dusted regularly and that pets were bathed and brushed outdoors as often as possible, in order to cut down on the most common allergy inducing factors. Today, there's far more at stake, when we consider the types of contaminants that are present in our environment as a result of pollution. Bigger challenges, then, require better tools for providing a solution enter, the air purifier.

Sanuvox UV Purification Systems’ Ability to Destroy Avian Flu (Bird Flu) and Avian Influenza A (H5N1)

Submitted by coordinator on Tue, 2005-11-01 13:30.

The use of Sanuvox Ultraviolet Air Purification Systems can be used as a preventative tool to limit the spread of Influenza in residential, commercial and industrial applications.

Sanuvox Technologies Inc. has been receiving many inquiries regarding the use of Sanuvox Ultraviolet Air Purification Systems on the Avian Flu. Sanuvox UV systems can be used as a prevention tool to limit the spread of Influenza in working and public environments.

According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) there are many different subtypes of type A influenza viruses. When we talk about “bird flu” viruses, we are referring to influenza A subtypes chiefly found in birds. They do not usually infect humans, even though we know they can. When we talk about “human flu viruses” we are referring to those subtypes that occur widely in humans. It is likely that some genetic parts of current human influenza A viruses came from birds originally. Influenza A viruses are constantly changing, and they might adapt over time to infect and spread among humans. For more information on Avian Influenza please visit the CDC at http://www.cdc.gov/flu/avian/gen-info/facts.htm

Concerns over bird flu create a windfall for air-purifier manufacturers

Submitted by coordinator on Mon, 2005-10-31 07:58.

Growing concerns about bird flu and overall health awareness are proving a windfall for existing air-purifier makers that aim to double their sales while new players are entering the market. Toshiba (Thailand) Co, recently took back its air-purifier distribution from Carrier (Thailand) Co. Sangchai Air Quality Co is widening its distribution of Honeywell products to the provinces while York Airconditioning and Refrigerating (Thailand) Co is introducing purifiers locally for the first time.

All of them are challenging the direct-sales company Amway, which leads the air-purifier market.

Nattaphong Areekul, vice-president of Toshiba Thailand, said the company had planned various marketing activities to build brand awareness of its air-purifiers, with a budget of 50 million baht.
